Internet Explorer security message when
viewing the protected files directly from the hard disk.
Problem under
Windows XP SP2:
Due to recent updates from Microsoft to their Internet Explorer
browser—updated as part of the Microsoft Windows XP Service
Pack 2 (XP SP2) update—viewing a web page locally that
needs to run active content or scripting causes the following
security message to appear in Internet Explorer's yellow Information
Bar:
To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has
restricted this file from showing active content that could
access your computer. Click here for options ...
Since HTML Password Lock is based on JavaScript technology,
when you are viewing the protected file directly from the hard
disk, it will display this message also.
This message will only display when you view the protected
files directly from the hard disk, such as c:\myfiles\myfile.htm.
It will not display when you view the files from the web server.
How to solve
this problem?
There are two ways to solve this problem:
1. First way: When the yellow Information Bar appears (shown above),
click on it and select "Allow blocked content ...".
The decrypting processing will work fine. 2. Second way: In
the program, Step 3, click "Advanced Options", check
"Add Mark of the Web comment in the HTML code" option,
then protect the file again. This option will add a Mark of
the Web comment in the html code:
<!-- saved from url=(0014)about:internet -->

This mark will force the html file into the Internet Zone other
than the Local Machine Zone, so that the JavaScript in the html
file will run properly on the local hard disk.
How
to support Asian and European languages?
If you are protecting an Asian or European language based web
page, please select "Support double bytes charset"
option in step 3, then everything will work fine.
